King's Table a ministry of Vineyard El Paso

Luke 14:12-14

“When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

King's Table is a practical, rewarding and very literal way to obey Jesus' command about throwing a banquet for the needy! Every Sunday afternoon at Vineyard, we feed a hot real to 150-200 men, women and chi8ldren, and also distribute about 140 grocery bags. Through America 's Second Harvest, we're able to buy food in quantity at 14 cents a pound.

King's Table meets after second service in the multipurpose room in the Vineyard Christian School building. The meal is served at about 1p.m. Usually we give 7 to 9 items per bag, ranging from pinto beans to corn flakes various canned goods and snack items.

We have four regular tams that take turns fixing the meal and distributing the groceries, so each team serves once a month. There are volunteer opportunities kinship groups, families, couples ad individuals. Our goal is for every member of the church to experience King's Table and to be excited about this ministry. If you want to find out more, why not come join us after church? We can always use an extra hand!

Matthew 25:34-40

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' “The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

Deuteronomy 15:11

There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land.
